SWBHIPA wants to bring behavioral health issues to the forefront of the discussions in health care in the State of New Mexico. SWBHIPA is working collaboratively with insurance companies, local associations who represent behavioral health providers, State organizations and provider agencies to help improve the conditions for the provision of behavioral healthcare services in New Mexico. We are actively working with providers and consumers to improve access to behavioral healthcare services.
SWBHIPA offers continuing education opportunities which are available to the membership and non-members. SWBHIPA obtained and updates an annual certification to provide licensing approved Continuing Education Units. These can be applied to the provider’s annual education requirements that is needed for their licensure. We provide high quality learning experiences, including Evidence Based Therapy trainings.
SWBHIPA has a website available to the membership and the public. We have a provider finder search engine to help the community access behavioral health providers. We regularly post updates on our activities and information to inform the public with updates on behavioral health news. The website also provides resources on insurance, current activities and news with regard to behavioral healthcare.
SWBHIPA has part time staff available to answer questions, give direction and provide resources for a business and private practice.
SWBHIPA promotes empowerment to small businesses and behavioral health practices, which supports them in their efforts to provide behavioral health services and enhancing ease of access to behavioral healthcare services. This has a direct impact to New Mexico’s communities and the availability of behavioral healthcare services.
